Stat of the day: After going 1 for 6 on 3-pointers in the first half, VCU hit 8 of 9 in the second half in its win over Georgia State. The Rams have had two games this season where they've made 13 3-pointers. VCU led the CAA in 3-point shooting percentage (36.3) in the regular season. In Anthony Grant's three seasons, VCU has ranked first or second in that category.
What to look for today: The electricity needle will be buried in another high-stakes war between VCU and ODU. The archrivals split in the regular season with each winning at home. They have split four meetings in the CAA tournament. ODU won the championship 73-66 in overtime in 2005. VCU won in the semifinals and quarterfinals in 2004 and '02, respectively. The Monarchs prevailed in the semis in 1999.
