»  Comments | Post a Comment

No. 11 Towson pulled off the biggest upset of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament, eliminating third-seeded Northeastern 58-54 in the last quarterfinal last night before a crowd of 5,232 at the Coliseum.

The Tigers (12-21), who were led by guards Junior Hairston (14 points) and Troy Franklin (13), will meet second-seeded George Mason (21-9) in today's second semifinal at 5:30 p.m.

Baptiste Bataille of Northeastern (18-12) had a chance to tie the game with 4.6 seconds left but missed 2 of 3 free throws after being fouled by Hairston on a 3-pointer.
