AUSTIN GRAY, LONGWOOD Sport: Golf Local connection: Sophomore from Monacan Notable: Gray delivered a 54-hole score of 220 to help the Lancers earn a second-place finish at last week's 13-team Manor Intercollegiate tournament in Farmville. The two-time All-Metro choice posted rounds of 72-74-74 on the 7,214-yard, par-72 Manor Resort layout. CALLIE ARMISTEAD, CHOWAN Sport: Volleyball Local connection: Freshman from Deep Run Notable: Armistead performed splendidly in her setter's role as Chowan (12-4) stretched its winning streak to eight with a 3-2 conquest of CIAA foe St. Augustine's.
