JMU turns back Radford 67-63

HARRISONBURG - Darren White scored 18 points to lead James Madison in a 67-63 victory over Radford last night.

Denzel Bowles added 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Dukes (9-11), who snapped a four-game losing streak. Julius Wells chipped in 15 points for JMU.

Lazar Trifunovic scored 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Highlanders (10-9). Blake Smith added 13 points in the loss.

Hampton 66, Florida A&M 53

HAMPTON - Michael Freeman scored 17 points to lead Hampton over Florida A&M. Freeman also added 10 rebounds for the Pirates (3-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, 6-13). Larry Jackson led Florida A&M (2-5, 4-15) with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

S.C. State 97, Norfolk State 82

ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Jason Flagler scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help South Carolina State defeat Norfolk State in the MEAC. Kyle O'Quinn had 32 points and 11 rebounds for the Spartans (2-4, 3-15).

Virginia Union 66, Livingstone 63

Joshua Miller scored a team high 13 points, and Greg Redford added 11 points and a team-high 10 rebounds in Virginia Union's CIAA victory at Barco Stevens Hall. Juan Richard chipped in 10 points for the Panthers. Jarred Stockton and Greg Henry scored 20 and 17, respectively, for the Blue Bears.

The Tigers led 35-28 at the half, then held on over the final 20 minutes. Jaleel Nelson and Mark Brown scored 21 and 20, respectively, for the Braves.
