UR's Harper gets feedback from NBA workouts

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Justin Harper has completed eight workouts for NBA teams and he has just two left as he prepares for the NBA draft on June 23.

Harper is a Meadowbrook High and University of Richmond graduate.

"I've gotten good feedback from all of the teams I've worked out with," Harper said Friday. "Some are more interested than others, but generally, it's been great feedback. It's been really motivating me to keep working and finish off strong."

Harper, who averaged 17.3 points as a senior at UR, is projected to be picked late in the first round or early in the second round of the draft. The big man's 45.2 percent success rate from 3-point distance in 2010-11 has drawn heavy interest from scouts. Harper measured in at 6-foot-8 in bare feet at the Chicago pre-draft camp last month. UR listed Harper at 6-foot-10 the past two years.

That doesn't seem to be an issue.

"He's really playing well, that's what we've heard, and continue to hear," said UR coach Chris Mooney.
