Cosby pitcher Carpenter commits to VCU

Richmond Baseball Academy coach Chris Gerrity reports that Cosby pitcher Michael Carpenter has committed to VCU.

Carpenter, who served as Cosby's closer last year, hit 91 mph on the radar gun at RBA tryouts a couple weeks ago, Gerrity said.

The tryout was well attended: 23 scouts and 115 kids showed up.
