3. Kirk RohleThe Hampden-Sydney running back continues to recover at VCU Medical Center from the third-degree burns suffered when his house caught fire. With a close friend, offensive lineman Ben Rogers, still in the house, Rohle went back into the burning building for a rescue attempt. Rogers escaped relatively unscathed.
4. Shaka SmartThe VCU coach made waves this week when he said the best college programs in the state are in the CAA. Virginia fans cringed at the statement and argued the contrary. Virginia Tech fans noted their football team signed seven four-star recruits on signing day.
