CAMERON OVERSTREET

NORTH CAROLINA

Sport: Track and field

Local connection: Freshman from Atlee

Notable: Overstreet, a former indoor and outdoor state high school pole vault champion, won her signature event with a vault of 13-1 1/2 at the Dick Taylor Invitational in Chapel Hill. She placed second (12-7 1/2 ) at the UNC Invitational.

HUNTER KNIGHT

DUKE

Sport: Swimming

Local connection: Sophomore from Maggie Walker Governor's School/NOVA

Notable: Knight won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.28) in Duke's showdown with No. 13 North Carolina. He placed third (57.10) in the 100 breast. He won the 200 breast (2:05.25) in a meet against Queens and South Carolina.

TAYLOR CLEVINGER

RICHMOND

Sport: Track and field

Local connection: Freshman from St. Catherine's

Notable: Clevinger was the A-10's indoor rookie of the week for the second straight week. She helped UR's 3,200 relay team finish fourth (8:57.30, a program record) at the New Balance Invitational. She placed ninth (2:52.11) in the 1,000.

HARRY WEST JR.

LYNCHBURG

Sport: Basketball

Local connection: Sophomore from Meadowbrook

Notable: West, typically a reserve guard, delivered 18 points, five rebounds and four assists in the Hornets' 79-68 road victory against ODAC foe Emory & Henry. Seven days later, he scored 16 points as a starter in a nonconference win against Methodist.

ANDREW STRAIT

WILLIAM AND MARY

Sport: Swimming

Local connection: Sophomore from Trinity Episcopal/Poseidon

Notable: Strait won twice as an individual in the Tribe's dual-meet conquest of Mary Washington. He captured the 200-yard freestyle in 1:46.10 and the 200 backstroke in 1:54.48. The wins were his 14th and 15th of 2012. He shares eighth place on W&M's single-season list.

MARTIZ WASHINGTON

LONGWOOD

Sport: Basketball

Local connection: Senior from Christchurch

Notable: Washington, a Hopewell resident, scored 18 points in the Lancers' 87-83 win against Fairleigh-Dickinson including four 3-pointers. Through 23 games, the former VIS all-state standout is averaging 10 points with 54 treys.
