»  Comments | Post a Comment

Virginia Commonwealth basketball coach Shaka Smart has picked up a 2013 commitment from 6-1 junior point guard JeQuan Lewis out of Dickson County, Tenn.

Dickson County coach Kevin Tuck said Lewis is a perfect fit for the Rams' "Havoc" style because of his ability "to go fast and then go faster" and because of his defense.

He's averaging about 19 points and about five rebounds. Lewis, who is also a quarterback on the football team, averaged 18 points as a sophomore.

Tuck said Lewis also had offers from Georgia and Wichita State and was drawing interest from ACC, SEC and Big Ten programs.
