Virginia's Joe Harris will continue to play despite fracturing a bone in his hand Saturday.
The sophomore guard had his left hand stepped on during the first half of the Cavaliers' 70-52 loss at North Carolina. He had the hand taped up and played the second half.
During that time he made two 3-point shots, but said that he was having problems squeezing the hand, which hindered his dribbling and rebounding abilities. Harris is a right-handed shooter, and the team's top 3-point weapon.
With center Assane Sene out due to injury, the 6-6 Harris has been used as a rebounder by coach Tony Bennett when he goes to a four-guard rotation. Starting with Tuesday's game against Clemson, that formation may have to be retooled.
Harris is averaging 12.5 points and 4.1 rebounds a game this year. With senior guard Sammy Zeglinski in a slump, Harris has emerged as the team's No. 2 scorer to team leader Mike Scott.
