The Richmond Kickers have re-signed veteran forward Edson Elcock for the 2012 USL PRO season.
Elcock, a swift 26-year-old, has been a key cog in the Kickers' attack since joining the club 2 1/2 years ago. He had four goals and two assists against USL PRO competition last summer and had a pair of assists to the Kickers' improbable run to the semifinal round of the U.S. Open Cup.
Elcock has started 53 of 58 matches and logged 4,520 minutes since signing his first Kickers contract in July 2009.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Elcock played three seasons (2004-2006) at Old Dominion after transferring from Division II Wingate. He rang up 11 goals and six assists in 2006, becoming the fourth first-team All-American in Monarchs history. He signed a developmental contract with Sporting Kansas City following the 2007 MLS SuperDraft.
