Justin Christian was 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs as the Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2-0 on Saturday.
Daryl Maday had a strong outing for the Squirrels (30-31), allowing four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in five innings. Henry Sosa entered in the bottom of the sixth and kept the Fisher Cats (37-24) scoreless for the final four innings, allowing three hits and recording two strikeouts.
The Squirrels' runs came in the top of the seventh when Christian knocked a two-out double to left, driving in Jose Flores and Ryan Lormand, both of whom had walked.
The Squirrels and Fisher Cats play the rubber match of the three-game set today.
In other news, Richmond received catcher Eliezer Zambrano after first baseman Drew Biery was placed on the disabled list. Zambrano was at extended spring training.
