PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Boys player of the week: Deep Run's Bharani Sankar
The No. 2 player on the Deep Run tennis team, Sankar defeated Trent Singleton of Douglas Freeman 6-1, 6-7 (4), 7-5, and Tommy Barlow of Mills Godwin 6-0, 6-1, helping the Wildcats finish the regular season with a record of 14-0. Sankar is 5-1 this season.

Girls player of the week: St. Catherine's Raven Baytops
A senior softball player, Baytops went 3 for 4 with two doubles in an 11-4 loss to Collegiate on April 3. Two days later, she went 2 for 4 with a triple and a home run, driving in four runs as St. Catherine's defeated Covenant 8-7.

Girls Scholar-Athlete for March: Patrick Henry's Emma Mitchell
Ranked fourth in her class, Emma is a member of the National Honor Society, the recipient of the 2011 Richmond Panhellenic Alumnae Award, an IB diploma candidate and a Hanover Scholar.
Boys Scholar-Athlete for March: Mills Godwin's Michael Holt
The winner of the Dartmouth Book Award and the Teacher's Award for Spanish, Michael had perfect Standards of Learning test scores in world history, geometry, chemistry, algebra 2 and English 11. He also was selected for Boys State.
